Help with british telecom (BT) needed?

I'm trying to get a number or email to a higher complaints department in BT.

Since the 20th of december i have had problems with my internet i have phoned technical support 29 times and still they are doing nothing about my problem, I have asked them for higher complaints but they keep telling me that i cannot go any higher other than them.

Does anyone know about a complaints procedure?

Thank you in advance.

There are a number of things you can do, first off ask your problem on the forum, quite often one of the moderators will step in and help, or one of us may be able to help you, all BT customers on there with a wealth of help and info.
As for going higher with your problem, on some of the posts you will see the email address for the CEO, which can take a little while to get a result.

Phoning India is a total waste of time, we all agree on that.

Voice Over Internet Protocol Telecom

VoIP is voice over Internet protocol and usually refers to different transmission technologies that are used for the delivery of voice communications making the use of IP networks, which includes internet and other kinds of network. Today there are many companies that provide the services of VoIP telecom and have a wide range of services for all its users. Such telecom companies have become highly popular which have full reliance on the telecom facilities. These companies include the security companies, telephone companies and also system integrators. The main VoIP services have replaced the original land line telephone services with their popular long distance telephone calling cards. With the VoIP telecom services the consumers benefit to a great effect. It saves more than fifty percent of the amount spend on international long distance calls. The user may be an international consumer or a retailer and provides a solution to all kinds of calling needs.

With the use of VoIP telecom services long distance and international calling has become much easier. People often faced tremendous trouble of many kinds while making long distance and international calls. With the introduction of VoIP telecom you not only get the opportunity of making several free calls you also get a chance of availing several features from the service provider. Most of these features have been designed and provided keeping in mind the preference of the users. You get a number of additional features such as call waiting facility, the facility of making voice calls, caller id facility and also the opportunity of three way calling. All these features have made the communication system much easier and hassle free and the VoIP telecom services one of the most popular services in terms of calling and international calling.

There are some other benefits also of using VoIP telecom that made it highly popular within a few years of its introduction. The most important and noteworthy advantage is the reduction in bill amount. Who doesn't want to save money in any way? With the VoIP telecom services you save almost half of your original bill amount. It is known that the amount paid on taxes and also the surcharges levied in these services are also much lower. Customers also get to know more about their bill amount any time they wish to know, as every detail is updated and is available online. A user needs to just login to the personal account and know the bill. In this way, the customers feel a lot secure as they are able to track all the incoming as well as outgoing calls, along with the time of each call. This helps them to understand, how the bill amount is derived and whether it is as per their talk time. This creates a level of transparency, which is extremely important.

The customer support of the VoIP telecom providers is also extremely good and is considered to be much better than the usual services provided by other companies. Users are never found complaining about any kind of holding problems, any sort of delays or any automated calls.

what is future of telecom domain for software industry?

Currently it has been proved that finance and banking domain is the most booming domain considering the career in IT and software. After 15 years, also, there will be no end for the banking/finance domain for the software.
Similarly what will be the future telecom domain? We have voice mail, VOIP now, what will be next enhancement? if today some body joined as fresh engineer in software in Telecom domain then will that person can grow in this domain after 20 years?

The problem is, nobody can predict what's going to happen. Can you imagine MySpace several years ago? How about YouTube? Computer/Software/Internet is still a very young industry. Those people who made a difference and leave their name in the history book still live among us. As a result, this industry is changing very fast. It is difficult to predict "the next big thing"

Solution to Eliminate the Risk Inherent of Telecom Subscribers

The nature of telecom fraud is transforming as telecommunications service providers look towards fixed price plans for converged voice, content and data based services. Today’s service providers serve a varied customer base over an increasingly complex combination of wireline, broadband and wireless networks. The emergence of these congregated networks has impacted the service provider business model and distorted the nature of fraud. Roaming fraud has become the leading cause of financial loss for mobile operators. Various companies are taking a look at fraud management by maintaining entire customer database. They provide solution to eliminate risk of mobile carriers with a comprehensive solution for monitoring high-fraud and fraud on the network.

Their highly scalable solutions features real time rules processing every sort of transactions including voice, SMS, MMS, GPRS, etc. to assure that relevant fraud or high usage events trigger alerts in seconds. Multiple analytical engines provide real time processing, finger-printing and usage profiling which combine to create the comprehensive analytic capability in the industry. Companies are providing solutions to eliminate the risk inherent in each phase of the subscriber including:

• During the pre-acquisition process, before incurring the cost of installation.
• During the early subscription period, where the vulnerability to fraud is highest.
• Through the acquisition process, including strong validation of customer identification.
• Continuing into the long term relationship, with vigilant attention to changes that signify potential abuse of network services.

Agilis’s solution named as “NetMind” is a revenue assurance and fraud management system which handles the risk points in the entire subscriber life cycle for landline, broadband and GSM or CDMA networks. Their powerful telecom fraud solution is agnostic to technology and adapts quickly to evolve business models in the service provider environment.

Agilis international has developed highly scalable solutions for several of today’s most significant business challenges like telecom fraud and revenue assurance. They have deployed these fraud management and traffic optimization solutions worldwide, applying them to several environments including landline, broadband and GSM/CDMA networks.

Elements Of Telecom Expense Management

Informed professionals know that telecom expense management saves money on wireless, landline and other communications billing, but that raises the question: How does it work? The answer is more complicated than it looks.

While telecom expense management should be a 360 degree strategy focused on providing the best savings possible, but many people reduce it to telecom audits alone. While telecom auditing is an important part of the process, professionals at Ontario and Florida-based Telecom Management firm GILL Technologies define telecom expense management as a multifaceted process. They’ve provided this list of the most critical functions of telecom expense management programs.

Bill Auditing: As stated, telecom audits aren’t the be all and end all of telecom expense management, but it’s still an important part of the process. Auditors begin by searching for billing errors. Carrier errors are common and often difficult to detect, requiring the trained eye of the auditor. A charge may seem correct until it’s cross referenced with a discount in the service contract.

Industry Analysis: In addition to analyzing individual phone [and internet] bills, a complete telecom expense management solution looks at the industry as a whole to find the best carrier for each client’s needs. For example, one carrier may provide excellent rates for fleets of phones providing basic talk and text service, while another is best for 3G wireless Internet. To provide the best possible savings, telecom experts need to keep up to date on the latest rates and agreements available from every carrier that could serve their clients.

Unit and Usage Tracking: Finding the best plan requires more than industry knowledge. Telecom expense management requires a detailed knowledge of the client’s usage. A business that constantly uses long distance has different needs than one where staff has to be able to send and receive email form anywhere, any time. Detailed tracking by unit detects employee misuse and inactive units – common sources of unnecessary expenses.

Renegotiation and Migration: If a carrier or agreement isn’t provide the most cost effective choice it’s time to make a change. Professional telecom expense management firms manage renegotiation of an existing agreement, or migration to a new carrier with no change in phone numbers or services [though in many cases a slight service adjustment can lead to tremendous savings, such as changing from traditional landline service to VoIP].

Telecom and Cellular Customer Service: Truly comprehensive telecom expense management also accounts for hidden fees and "soft" costs arising from wasted time and stress. Poor customer service is one of the biggest causes of these invisible costs, so the best telecom expense management programs act as carrier liaisons to get the best, fastest customer service, including staying on hold and talking to carrier representatives on the client’s behalf.

Upgrades and Procurement: Finally, telecom expense management doesn’t ignore the hardware side. It finds cost effective sources for new hardware and upgrades, from smart phones to Bluetooth headsets. Aside from saving on basic purchase costs, clients also cut costs by avoiding haphazard individual orders and shipping, and by picking hardware truly suited to their needs thanks to the help of informed professionals.

If you’re planning on adding telecom expense management services, remember that all of these options are part of the total solution and ask yourself if the firm you’re looking at provides it, or just does auditing.

Is the answer to the illegal immigration problem in america to make things so miserable here that noone will?

want to move to the United States and more and more Americans will leave America? sure seems that way. Why would people come here to work when the only jobs left are janitorial, cashiering, loading boxes at a warehouse and all the good IT careers, Telecom Careers, Hi-Tech Careers, Science Careers, Sales and Marketing Careers have gone over seas?

Some previous answers think we are complaining bout immigrants, when that is not the question, the question is all about ILLEGAL, I am all for the Legal immigrants, my ancestors were LEGAL immigrants! I agree that all the good jobs are going overseas (you can't even get an English speaking person on the phone when you call your local bank because they route the calls to souteast India). However, this will not stop people illegally coming into our country. . . the janitorial jobs and others you named are the ones they take. The real solution is to stop giving them welfare, amnesty, JOBS, free medical care, and food stamps, not to mention interest free loans. If it were not so easy for the for mentioned items, they would have to either become LEGAL or go back to where they came from. It is not so much the illegal's making the problem as it is our government system that allows the for all the reasons for them to stay. Why leave or become legal when you don't have to? Why go above and beyond when it is easy to get away with more by doing less? AND YES THEY DO GET FREE MEDICAL CARE - as a response to an ealier answer, I see it daily in my job!

ZTE Link - An Android phone for 149 €

Since May 7, it is possible to acquire from Bouygues Telecom in France, the latest high-end model from ZTE.
Called ZTE Link, it is also the first ZTE model imported into France running Android OS. As mentioned by Emmanuel Rousseau, the Director for terminals in France, the ZTE Link aim is to democratize Android cell phones in France. At 149 € in prepaid, or 1 € in a pack, ZTE has good chances to succeed.

Despite the tight price ZTE Link is a well equipped mobile phone. It has a very reactive 2.8-inch resistive touch screen of 320x240 pixels. The processor, a Qualcomm MSM7227 clocked at 600MHz,   has an internal memory of 120MB and comes with a 2GB memory card to store multimedia files (pictures, MP3s, videos ...). This memory can be extended to 8 GB by adding a microSD card. The Link is quad bands and works on the 3G+ networks, which allows surfing at an average speed of 1.2 Mbps (7.2 Mbps maximum). It also has Bluetooth and WiFi to surf for free in one of the numerous hot spot available around the planet. The A-GPS is used in combination with Google Maps. The camera is a 3.2 megapixels, which is quite satisfying given the price of the terminal. The built in accelerometer, allows photos, videos and the digital keyboard to automatically adjust to the screen, whether the phone is hold vertically or horizontally. The ZTE Link integrates music, video, photos and audio players. The micro USB port allows the Link to be easily connected to a PC for file transfer or battery charging.

Finally, the fact that the Link is running an Android operating system (version 1.6), this makes it compatible with more than 10,000 applications available for example at Android Market or Androlib.

The ZTE Link casing uses plastics which are similar to the HTC Touch 3G's one. Although some of the photos show the Link in white, Bouygues Telecom offers it only in black. Its dimensions are rather small: 102 x 55 x 14.5 mm and with a weight of 104 grams, it is lighter than most other Smartphone's. The 3 controls (home, menu, back), bellow the screen, are sensitive, the 2 steps button bellow is mechanical. The volume button is located on the right side of the cell phone.
Our first impression concerning the ZTE Link is positive. The casing, the call reception and the emission are good and the screen is very responsive, but lacks of brightness in daylight.

ZTE managed to provide an Android phone with a good performance for an entry-level price. Competition should start to worry and for ZTE it is only the beginning.

Four good answers.

Hey guys, go to VeloNews.com for all the up to date racing news. There has been a lot of changes to the pro-tour teams since the season ended, most noteably Astana signing Leipheimer, Contador and Bruyneel. They still have Gusev and Kloden so they should be a force. But of course Slipstream signed Danielson, Millar, Zabriskie, Vande Veld, Laurent, and still has Pate as well.

On paper, Astana is again looking like the team to beat. However, I am sure Team Slipstream is going to be gunning for them hard. It should be an interesting race.
