DTH space industry is growing at a really lightening fast speed since its introduction in Europe. DTH is an abbreviated form that stands for "Direct to Home" television. It makes use of the digital signal in the uplink and downlink process and thus enhances the picture and sound quality to a great extent. DTH helps eliminate the need of local TV cable operators and provides a chance of direct communication of the customers and the broadcaster. The users can also avail high speed internet from DTH broadcasting system. Many new companies are coming up in this industry, thereby providing more options and facilities to the customers and competition to others in the business.
Moreover, due to globalization now these companies are not only limited to providing services in their own country only. For instance, now there are even many Asian DTH subscribers in Europe as well. Many Indian channels are being broadcasted in Europe in both formats i.e. free channels and paid channels. Indian TV channels to Europe is a perfect example of the popularity of DTH services worldwide. DTH has also broken down the monopoly of local cable operators around the globe.
A KU band uplink is mainly used for satellite communication. It further simplifies the process of editing and broadcasting of satellite television. The KU band is split into many portions and fragmented geographically. A KU band is not convertible to any other form of bands however it is highly compatible with almost all sort of antennas.
C band uplink is a better option than KU or KA band and performs much better adverse climatic conditions. For communication satellites, it is the original frequency allocation. Unlike the KU band it requires a large dish for its operation i.e. it can't operate on small dishes or antennas. Depending upon the signal strength, the C band dish sizes vary from unit to unit. The C band is available in six different variations.
