I'm 16 years old and my parents signed me up for a Camp Counselor in Training program at a summer camp. It's basically the same as camp. I've never been camping before and I'm a shy person... but whatever I'll have to get over. My best friend might come with me. For those of you who have been involved in the CIT program.... what's it like?

Credit Counseling - Sample Late Payment Explanation Letter

The following is a pattern to write a letter to send to the person or company you are in debt to.

Hector Milla Editor of the "Credit Card Debt Counseling" website -- http://www.CreditCardDebtCounseling.biz -- pointed out;

“…To Whom It May Concern,

The purpose of this letter is to inform (credit card company) of my current financial hardship. This letter will also serve as an explanation of my current inability to submit my monthly payment on time.

In (date), I was laid off from my job after (years) of service. My wife has been unemployed for (years) and we are using our emergency fund to pay housing bills, transportation and utilities. I am diligently trying to secure employment, as is my wife. In the current economy, as you know, jobs are very hard to come by. We have also tried to reduce household expenses to the bare minimum to stretch our reserves as much as possible. Unfortunately this situation has forced me to become late on some bills, including this credit card payment.

I am working as hard as I can to find other income streams and expect this situation to be temporary. I also believe in responsibility which is why I want to be upfront with you about my current hardship. I am hoping that you might have some options to defer some of my monthly payments in order to help me get back on track financially. This letter is not comfortable for me to write, but I have never been late on a single payment in my (x) year history with (company) so I am hopeful that you will be understanding in these trying economic times.

I am including a worksheet documenting all of my current income and expenses. I am also more than willing to provide any other documentation that will help expedite this process.

My ultimate goal is to continue a relationship with (company) and begin making regular payments as soon as financially possible.

Thank you for your time and please contact me with anything further that is needed.

Sincerely

(Name) …” added H. Milla.

DO you think I would have a hard time finding employment with an online degree from a local university?

The university is over 3 hours away and I don't want to move that far away from home, but they offer my bachelors degree online do you think employers would take that degree seriously since it is from a credited local university? the degree I want to take there is Bachelors of arts in community studies. You can do any kind of human service type job or further your education on to becoming a teacher, social worker, or a police officer. I want to get my BEd in secondary education with counseling as a master to become a guidance counselor. But for this online school I will only be taking my BACS.
It is acredited and it's from a local university, also it does say on your diploma that you took it online so I thought it would be ok because they would have to ask if i took it online to know and if they did happen to ask I can tell them yes it was taking through distance and maybe that since it's from a local well known university around my area that they will not look at it poorly.

I think that if you go to a good school such as Salve Regina University or Liberty University or St. Thomas University then its okay. Make sure the school is regionally accredited. You also will need to make sure that you have the skills needed for your chosen field and that you present yourself well in the interview(s). Good luck.

T1 Lines Defined and DS1 Technology Solutions

T1 Lines are very valuable when it comes to business. A T1 Line is much more reliable than DSL because of the SLA guaranteed by the ISP and it is dedicated so there isn't anyone who shares the connection with the subscriber. When a T1 Line of High-Speed Internet is connected to the World Wide Web/Internet over fiber, dedicated copper or Ethernet using a telecommunications standard that was developed by AT&T/Bell Labs for North America/United States/Canada and Japan it transmits data packets at a collective speed of 1.544 megabits per second (Mbps) and usually connects from the customer premise (CP) directly to an extensive fiber optic Internet Service Provider (ISP) backbone.

For those of you who are new to the T1 world, here is some information that may help bring some clarity to the issue. The terminology that is known as a "T-1" or "T1" is abbreviated for Trunk Level 1, which is a telecommunications standard for digital transmission under the Digital Signal Level hierarchy. A T1 over copper is delivered by connecting two pairs of twisted copper wires between the subscriber location and the telco providers central office also known as the (CO). One of the 2 twisted copper pairs is for transmitting data and the other pair is for receiving data. In conjunction, the 4-copper-wire transmission media carrying the digital signaling standard produces a full duplex symmetrical or bi-directional circuit. When a T1 delivered over fiber, a fiber pair is used as opposed to the 4-wire copper configuration as stated above. The copper solution is more common than the fiber, especially in rural area's.

The effectiveness of an Internet T1 over cable or DSL Internet service is that the total amount of 1.544 Mbps minus the .008 Mega bits per second for framing of available bandwidth is delivered by a T-1 connection that is guaranteed 24 x 7 x 365 by the Internet Service Provider under a Service Level Agreement (SLA) that dictates service reliability in precise terms. Also, when a T1 is not sufficient enough you are able to bond the T1's up to as many as 8 T1's commonly phrased as NxT1, the N standing for the number of T1 Lines to be bonded.

The end result is that a T1 is used to provide last mile Internet Access to an ISP's (Internet Service Provider's) Point of Presence also known as their PoP, a local loop is then delivered and T1 access is provisioned as 1.536 Mbps of bandwidth and a full 1.536 Mbps bi-directional plus the .008 Mbps of framing bits which equals the 1.544 Mbps. So before you go shopping for T1 Lines make sure that it is a true T1 and not one of those oversubscribed wireless circuits where the whole neighborhood is sharing the connection and is promoted in local markets for a ridiculously lower price that is traditionally sold on the T1 market.

Cost Per Patient Day And Productivity

Preventative action for Type 2 Diabetes will shave £millions from health care costs

The secret fix that drug companies don't want to you to know about and only a few Primary Care Trusts know about.

Drugs are big business and pharmaceutical companies make billions of pounds every year in profit in repeat prescriptions from obesity medications and other drugs to help control Type 2 Diabetes, reduce weight and improve reduce blood pressure and help cholesterol levels. The cost to patients, the health care industry and insurance companies is astronomical. The expense of diabetic care alone, impacts directly on the service that health insurance companies, doctors and diabetic educators can provide to individuals.

The patient's health is at the greatest risk when it comes to cutting budgets. And, health care providers such as the NHS will and have to use peoples BMI measurements to decide whether that person gets a non-emergency operation. It is a known risk that people with high BMI's are at greater risk for invasive surgery, so justifiably a measure to use, except, that people with high density muscles such as rugby players can easily exceed the level of a BMI of 30!

Therefore, how do we maintain patient care and, how do we offer them a less expensive product than pharmacotherapy? A product that the patient can personally buy into without breaking their bank or even the NHS budgets for weight management classes? The Diet Plate is not just a plate! It is a cost effective method of weight management built on common sense. It can be used every day, directly in the home, for less than £20 for a lifetime solution, not an expensive monthly fix, a product that through personal empowerment and visual lifestyle change will prevent Type 2 Diabetes and, for those unfortunate to have it, also help control it.

This is a preventative system, and a cure, holistic in its ethos it can do no harm, it is non-invasive, it applies to lifestyle but is also clinically trialed to work by Dr. Sue Pedersen, a prominent endocrinologist from the University of Calgary.

The clinical trial was to show portion control as an aid to help control Type 2 Diabetes by reducing weight. The trial proved the outcome of using "The Diet Plate weight management solution," instead of regular plates to eat from. And, the conclusion was:Compared with usual care, the portion control tool studied was effective in inducing weight loss. The portion control plate also enabled patients with diabetes mellitus to decrease their hypoglycemic medications without sacrificing glycemic control.

This means that, weight reduction was comparable to any of the current obesity drugs offered but without need for close medical supervision and without any unwanted side effects, other than the desired one which is a reduction in diabetic medications. A money saver! You can get more information about the trials

Lifestyle plays such an important part in our health. In fact, exercise and good nutrition are the foundations of our wellbeing. The Diet Plate is affordable to everybody through health care providers if they subscribe to us. And, to individuals who wish to take control of their own health, it is available in fine earthenware and melamine versions. If you think such a product is just for people with a few pounds to lose, then take a look at this evidence.

Melamine versions will be launched from the UK into America in July and are available to the NHS. We cordially invite any interested parties who wish to distribute the products to contact us directly.

About US: Diet Plate first appeared on CNN Headline news in 2002, it was the world's first portion control diet in the form of a lifestyle product. A quintessentially English product developed to negate the counting of calories but control the diet through food groups and recipes. It makes losing weight easier than counting calories.

It has been purchased by the National Health Service for many years, and is used in obesity and diabetic clinics, plus bariatric hospitals and is sold in pharmacies across the UK.. It is available in South Africa, Australia and Canada as well as the UK. Dr Ian Campbell MBE is the UK's leading obesity expert and our medical advisor,

Value Of Personal Property Bankruptcy

Add Personal Property Appraisals to Your Roster of Services

Personal Property Appraisal work can be an excellent additional source of income for auctioneers, but it's not without its trials. A fellow auctioneer and friend had told me a story while we were in the Auction Marketing Institute's (AMI) sponsored GPPA (Graduate Personal Property Appraiser) class in Orlando, FL in 2002. He recounted an embarrassing situation where he was providing expert witness testimony before a judge for an appraisal case. He was one of three appraisers in the courtroom. Fortunately for him, only he and one other appraiser were within a couple thousand dollars of each other on this high dollar case. The third appraiser was almost one hundred thousand dollars away from any realistic value, and as such, he was summarily dismissed by the judge. Although my friend had 25 years of experience in appraising, he was ultimately dismissed by the judge because the other appraiser was certified, and further he used the USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) guidelines to write his report. My friend, although an expert in the disputed area, was not certified as an appraiser at that time. He told me that after that embarrassing experience that he was going to acquire the training to become a certified appraiser as soon as possible. The moral of this story is unless you are a certified appraiser your experience, although important and possibly relevant, does not mean much to the legal authorities.

As a certified appraiser, I receive calls all of the time from potential customers who think I am the Antique's Road show. Further, they believe that I am going to appraise their items at no charge. Guess again? The appraisals on the Antique's Road show don't mean anything significant, as they are more akin to a Desktop Opinion (A preliminary step to a full appraisal.). Have you ever seen an appraiser on the Antique's Road show provide their appraisal in writing? I tell my customers that I charge either an hourly rate or a flat fee, and those who would charge you a percentage of value are violating USPAP and federal law. This is the best way to spot someone who is uncertified!

Sometimes I even receive calls from people asking me to appraise their homes. I politely explain that Personal Property is different from Real Property (Buildings & Land). Real Property appraisal requires a license in most states. The only building exempted is my state is a Mobile Home. Check with your state for laws pertaining to appraisers.

Occasionally, the challenging customer will object to hourly rates or flat fees, stating "that such and such a business will write an appraisal for me for much less." I inform the would-be customer that there is a lot of time, research, and writing of a report. I query the potential customer, and ask them (1) what certification does this other appraiser possess, and (2) what is their "basis of valuation" or (3) "approach and definitions to value"? Lastly, I politely inform the complainant that if they want invest their hard earned money on such a questionable appraisal, I would gladly provide them with a more comfortable roll of Charmin, that might be more valuable to them instead.

The bottom line is this, as an appraiser you are only as good as your training, experience, and certification. Without a certification you only have an invalidated and basically worthless opinion. Your uncertified opinion is meaningless in court, especially when you are providing expert witness testimony on appraisals in areas such as marriage dissolution, bankruptcy, probate & will, or insurance matters.

There are many organizations that offer appraisal certification programs. Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware.)! The International Society of Appraisers (ISA) is one of the largest certifying boards. For more information on becoming an appraiser contact contact one the many appraisal organization's web sites available online.

Bankruptcy Question about a loan...?

We are filing chapter 7 bankruptcy due to being laid off from work. We owe about 25,000 which is on a car loan and also includes personal loans payday loan checking accounts credit cards and collection bills. My question is, I have a 40,000 dollar loan which i'm a joint applicant, I was placed on the loan to help my credit and the property securing the loan is not mine howeven my truck is listed on this loan (value of 2,000) can I be removed from this loan or do need to file it. I know bankruptcy is a bad option but with a child and one income it's very tough and we are getting judgments against us. Any experience info would be great.

You should inform the other person on the loan of your intent to file bankruptcy and ask to be removed from the loan. If this cannot be done, you should not report this loan as part of your bankruptcy estate as to not affect the credit of the other person. How and even if this can be done is something you need to discuss with your bankruptcy attorney.

Nonprofit Organization Survival Tips:

Surviving and Thriving in Tough Economic Times

Seth Bloom, Bloom Consulting, Inc.

Recession, inflation, deflation, correction, etc., whatever you want to call what we’re going through the simple fact is that many of us have already made adjustments at home and in our businesses, and most of us may need to consider further belt-tightening in the near future. As community leaders, many of us are also wrestling with the impact this economy is having on our nonprofit organizations. As consultants specializing in nonprofit fundraising, strategic planning, marketing and Leadership development, Bloom Consulting has had extensive experience with the financial challenges that all nonprofits face from time to time, and we recognize the difficulties that the current situation poses. Fortunately, we believe there are ways to reduce its impact and insure that your nonprofit not only survives, but thrives, in the days ahead.

This list is for anyone with a common sense approach to surviving and thriving in tough economic times. While nonprofit organizations should consider many of these initiatives, they may not all apply to every nonprofit. Yours may have already adopted some, while others may seem too simple or too difficult. Chances are you’ll find a few here to consider, and undoubtedly others will stimulate your own creative ideas.

The Big Picture

Don’t panic! The good news is that nonprofits have weathered economic storms before. That being said, we all realize this will be a challenging period.

Many of the recommendations translate into cutting back, or asking more of others. Fortunately, not everyone is being as adversely affected by the economy as others, and some may even be doing quite well. Keep in mind that some people can and will respond by doing more.

Communicate! Keep your supporters and staff informed about actions you’re taking and how they can be part of the solution, whether through their increased financial support, or simple things such as turning off lights when they walk out of a room or wearing a sweater inside the building since the heat is turned down a few degrees.

Ask your staff and volunteers to offer suggestions of ways to save money or raise funds. Instill a sense that the organization is theirs... and that its challenges are theirs to meet. .

Don’t be penny wise but dollar foolish. If the roof needs fixing and neglecting it will only cost you more in the long run. Bite the bullet. Compelling needs will be supported.

Mindset/Behavior Changes:

Ask a volunteer (or a few) to host or underwrite a social reception for distinct groups such as long-standing contributors, seniors, young families, etc. Doing so can shift some of the financial burden off of the organization budget, and you’re offering these groups something for nothing – a great way to demonstrate appreciation, increase involvement, strengthen retention, etc.

Everyone should have a will and everyone can include something for their favorite nonprofit organization, even if it’s contingent upon any money being left after other bequests have been made. Leadership should set the example by signing Letters of Intent. Just imagine how much easier this tough economic period would be if generations before had established a sufficient endowment fund generating supplemental income. This is our obligation for generations to come.

Maximize all recognition opportunities, whether for financial contributions, in-kind services or volunteer time. While public recognition – honor roll lists, plaques, etc., – is very effective, it’s not the only option and other ways are also greatly appreciated. Sometimes a handwritten note or phone call to say “thank you” will go a long way. Inspire others and positively reinforce desired behaviors through lists, stories, announcements, etc.

You may need to use your line of credit from the bank to get through some rough periods. If you don’t have a line of credit, don’t assume it’s impossible to obtain one now. While credit has been extremely tight and lines of credit may generally be less available than they were prior to the downturn, if your nonprofit has a good relationship with its bank, you should be able to obtain one. If your credit worthiness is shaky, consider asking individual financial supporters to co-sign on your behalf.

Consider “borrowing from yourself.” Your organization’s rainy day may be here, so it’s OK to access endowment/reserve funds, ideally with a plan to repay the borrowed amount for a future rainy day.

Remember, not everyone is being adversely affected by the economy. Form a Task Force to identify real needs and identify potential sources of funding. Develop a menu of programs to address the identified needs and make them available to select prospects for funding. For example, the need for program expansion or facility enhancement may resonate particularly well with potential donors.

Don’t apologize for asking for support or for considering cost savings. To the contrary, supporters will want to know you’re being good stewards of their support.

Keep in mind, if you don’t ask, the answer is always “no.”

Cost savings:

Where possible, renegotiate terms on longstanding contracts as they come up for renewal. Shop around.

Minimize postage. Consolidate mailings and ask supporters and members to receive information such as your newsletter, membership directory and program announcements through e-mail.

If your organization doesn’t do so already, require reservations in advance for events where food will be served so excess food won’t be ordered. Consider rescheduling/canceling programs with limited interest. Charge people who register but don’t show up.

Install a thermostat timer and zoned heat/air conditioning. Install light switches with motion sensors, programmed to turn lights on when someone enters a room and turn them off after not sensing any motion in the room after a few minutes. These are particularly cost-effective in bathrooms!

Educate your staff about your monthly utility bills and, where practical, challenge them to help reduce the bottom line. For example, encourage everyone to wear a sweater in cooler months and turn off their computers at the end of the day. Communicate monthly results.

If a vacant position can be left unfilled for the time being without adverse consequences, consider delaying the hiring. In extreme cases, you may need to consider a temporary salary/hiring freeze and/or layoffs. Consider using an intern and/or volunteers rather than hiring a new staff member. Inform your staff about volunteer opportunities that may otherwise require hiring someone ... office personnel, lawn maintenance, etc. There may be recently unemployed individuals associated with your organization who would welcome the opportunity for meaningful volunteer work.

Consolidation and collaboration can produce significant cost savings. For example, a small class could become one class. Co-sponsoring events will enable your organization to share expenses while increasing your exposure to a new constituency.

Consider bulk purchasing of staples such as cleaning and office supplies. Band together with other nonprofit organizations in order to negotiate lower fees.

Establish a co-op program offering all affiliates opportunities to serve the organization through service or to pay a nominal fee. Service can include committee work or actual hands-on cost savings services, but ultimately, your supporters will be more engaged – and committed.

Evaluate every program ... question everything. If only a handful of people are coming to a particular program, perhaps it’s time to eliminate, modify, or at least to readjust the number of times the program is offered.

Take advantage of every store program offered to nonprofits ... supermarket scrip, free credit card programs, etc. Establish a committee of your thriftiest shoppers to manage this effort.

Increase income:

Identify and prioritize, distinguishing real needs from things that would be nice to have or do. Secure funding for these needs, whether it be through a “quiet campaign” among supporters or through an organization wide campaign.

Your board should be the best informed group regarding the impact of the downturn, and board members may be among the most inclined to make additional elective contributions. Consider asking board members to make a contribution toward a defined goal, as if there were a mini-campaign. The goal could correspond to a budget shortfall or the amount needed to preserve an important program, as long as the things to be paid for are among your identified needs. Depending on magnitude of the needs, consider approaching select major donors. If the goal is substantial enough to require universal support, publicize after 50% or 60% of the goal is reached, and state the challenge to make contributions toward reaching the total goal.

Have leadership – officers, board, staff – identify 1 – 3 people perceived to have significant wealth and/or access in order to nurture/establish a relationship, identify areas of interest, and ultimately ask for their support.

Identify potential new donors by considering people formerly affiliated with your organization, relatives of current supporters, donors to similar organizations, etc.

Consider a single, annual ask for your potential major donors to help support operations of the organization rather than solicitations for every event/initiative. Price it high enough to cover the cumulative of top categories of every event. Don’t solicit these people again, but invite them to attend and recognize their support.

Rater higher-end prospects and pre-solicit them in advance of fundraising events in order for you prospective donors to have a sense of a specific gift to consider.

Offer sponsorship opportunities of events, your website, etc., to local businesses. Such sponsorships create win-win partnerships with businesses by providing visibility to the community. For businesses, donations are often considered a marketing expense.

If your nonprofit is considering dues or other fee increases, make modest annual adjustments rather than hitting people with a significant increase all at once.

Offer free estate planning seminars highlighting tax savings options, including planned giving.

Maximize use of your building by renting available space to outside groups (bingo, dance clubs, etc.).

Charge outside vendors a fee to be eligible for use in your facility ... caterers, florists, etc. All vendors should be asked for their financial contributions.

Offer babysitting on site for a nominal fee during events, business hours, and programs. Not only will this be an appreciated service, it’s conceivable you can secure volunteers to provide the service and/or receive enough income to make a modest profit for the organization.

Constantly urge supporters to consider matching gifts programs available through their employer. Often schools or programs open to the community are eligible for corporate matches.

Conclusion:

Chances are at some point the current economy will challenge your nonprofit organization to consider creative strategies for minimizing the impact on your delivery of service. This cannot be a period of “business as usual.” While there are many external factors beyond your control, there are many initiatives to consider to enable nonprofits continue to fulfill their mission. The organizations that embrace this challenge will be the organizations that will survive the current situation and thrive in the long-run.

LG GW620 Brings Social Networking via Mobile Phones to a New Level

Are you a social networking butterfly and craves for a full QWERTY keyboard for fast instant messaging input? There is more to that in LG GW620. It also features a social networking service manager that displays and updates email, instant messages, facebook status arranged according to contacts. This allows you to keep updated of the latest happenings of your social network even while on the go.

The Online Social Network Craze

In anticipation for the growing demand for smart phones that support social networking function, LG designed the phone with the social networking butterfly in mind and making the phone more accessible to typical users. Online social networking is now very popular that almost everyone who spends time before a laptop or a PC is a member of at least one social network site.

Social networking is an old mechanism used not only for personal ends but also with professional and business aims. However lately, the internet brought social networking to a different level making it easier and bigger as your reach is not limited by your location. Via the internet, you can connect with people from around the world. Not only can you develop contacts with people from another country but it also allows you to learn from about new places and from a diverse mix of cultures, which is a good thing.

Smart phones are about to obliterate PC and laptop exclusivity of online social networking by taking them to the mobile phones as well. The latest to join the bandwagon of social networking capable phones is the LG GW620. Equipped with a facial recognition system, and an SNS manager that brings in facebook and twitter together in to the contacts application, social networking on the go is way lot easier with this phone.

Fully-loaded Yet User-friendly

According to LG’s press releases, the phone is your ultimate first Smart Phone. It is fully loaded with cool features while maintaining the user-friendly character of LG phones that its customers know and love. You do not have to be a geek to take full advantage of its Android operating system and it comes with a large 3 inch full touch screen that does not necessarily strain your eye while spending more than just a few minutes before your phone’s screen.

It can be rotated to adjust to vertical and horizontal viewing. The LCD panel has a 240 x 400 screen resolution and comes with a resistive touch screen technology with 256k color depth support. Not actually above other smart phones in its class but does the job anyway.

Value for Your Money

It also comes with a camera with 5 mega pixel imaging capability, Bluetooth, phone book, organizer, photo editor, microSD card, micro USB, GPS with A-GPS support, Wi-Fi connectivity, FM Radio and Music player. Now, these are indeed bonuses you wouldn’t mind having with your new android phone. The price is yet to be known but the phone being LG’s debut for the android phone market, it is not expected to cost as much as other smart phones do.

Calgary Copywriter: How To Be Successful

Many people are now trying their hand at copywriting as a career. It can indeed be a very rewarding career with many opportunities for you and it can as well be used to benefit your own business. Copywriting however is not for everyone.

In order to be successful at copywriting, you must have a perfect grasp on the language in which you are copywriting. You will need to have perfect skills in not only technical writing and grammar use, but you will also need to be able to take those language skills and couple them with imagination and flair.

If your writing is full of typos, misspellings, or improper grammar, clients will take their business elsewhere; some will not even give you a chance to correct your errors. These errors could even be caused by your word processing program and have nothing to do with your own personal skill level.

As well if your writing is just something that looks like it came straight out of a textbook it will be dry and boring; thus causing readers to skip over it and this will not provide your client with what they were looking for when they hired you as a copywriter.

Your writing will require a lot of creativity and originality. Your writing must be different from everyone else's while still providing all the information the client requires, in the tone of speech the client requires. Know your audience, for example, writing on rock music will greatly differ from writing on insurance. So, know the target market that your client is trying to interest.

You will also need to know, as a copywriter, how to search engine optimize your writings naturally and flawlessly so that it does not become just a jumble of keywords randomly thrown into a sentence to get the search engines attention. Search engines have become more advanced today and so must you. You must know how to keep the key words in your writing while not using them uselessly. They must fit into your sentence, into the train of thought and the flow of your article.

Your writing will need to be eye catching, interesting, imaginative, and convincing. If you are writing a review of a product or simply promoting it, you will need to convince your target audience that this is the product for them. You must do this without coming across as pushy or forceful. People want to feel they need the product, but not that it's being shoved on them. You need to increase the number of people that want this product or service, not turn them off from it.

All that being said, if you possess the skills above; you could be on your way to a successful career as a copywriter. As the times change though, so will you, so you must keep up to date on all the technological changes in this work field in order to stay on top in the world of Calgary copywriting.

Video Production- Finding the Right Production Company

You know what you want, but where do you find it? The hunt for a production company requires the knowledge of where to look; however, the hunt for a great production company involves much more consideration.

Disregard your phonebook and go straight to the World Wide Web. Through the continual growth of online resources, you might be able to conduct your entire search at a desk. All reputable production companies have homepages with easily accessible information and demo material.

Reputation is an important track to follow. A first-hand client testimonial can tell you a lot about general rapport, professionalism, the overall process and the final outcome. You may discover that a famed production company really does not provide the quality of a smaller, lesser known one.

While personal referrals are often the most helpful, keep in mind how knowledgeable your source is. Use the opportunity to inquire about the experience and view the final product. If any element of the video appeals to you, find out the origins behind it. The animation might be unusually impressive, the soundtrack undeniably gripping or the editing seamlessly suspenseful, so ask for names.

Has the production company been recognized and acclaimed by fellow filmmakers? Websites usually devote a space to brandish any honors. Regional and national awards showcase superior work. Prominent competitions include the Emmys, the Accolades, The Videographer awards, the New York Festivals, the International Film and Video Festivals and the Telly Awards. While all awards are noteworthy, some signify more than others. Be aware of how each award is determined. For example, an Emmy honors work that excels beyond all other competition, while a Telly is awarded to any work that meets set standards.

Depending on your budget, location may or may not be a factor in who you choose to hire. Travel fees, including gasoline and lodging fees, will ultimately be charged back to your account. The convenience of a production company down the street will hardly matter if your project requires them to shoot on-location in another country.

The production company will provide the crew for your video. The crew for a simple video will include a producer, camera operator and a sound technician. For small projects, the producer can double as director; for the simplest projects, the producer may be a single cameraman. Including on-camera talent includes a larger crew consisting of a production assistant, lighting directors, make-up artists, wardrobe assistants and more.

A turnkey production company, which offers all pre-production to post-production services in-house, is often the most cost-effective option for video projects. Production companies typically own the necessary production resources and do not need to hire or rent from other vendors.

When choosing between companies, compare each based on their answers to the following questions:

What type of productions do you specialize in?

Do you have experience in the type of product I'm planning to create?

What will I need to contribute to the project?

Also, view a variety of their sample reels. Often these can be located on the company's website as well as on DVD.

The production company may need to schedule and coordinate different phases of the project with you or someone else from your company. Share your vision with the production company during your initial meeting. Good producers are experts in the technical aspects of production, but great producers are also passionate about the projects.

Film and video are ever-present in our culture, breeding sophisticated audiences with high expectations. In the end, your audience must focus on your message rather than on the method in which it is communicated; its purpose cannot be lost in or distracted by its form. The current price of video production tools allows almost anyone to produce, edit and broadcast, so be meticulous in your decision. A professional production company has the expertise to convey your message through media, not in spite of it.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ANSWER THIS MEDICAL OFFICE QUESTION...HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO ANSWER IT. PLEASE HELP!?

In the following situation, show how you use these three qualifications for office management- being a team player, planning strategically, and increasing productivity: There are three physicians in the practice where you are employed. Each physician has an administrative medical assistant and a technician, and there is an office receptionist. As office manager, you have just received approval to present a proposal for purchasing new waiting room furniture. How will you use your office management skills to handle this task?

Is this an exam or something? You might consider posting these in Homework Help rather than in the Yahoo Answers section, as this section is for questions related to Answers itself.

1. Ask each team member what would make their job easier if it were included in the new waiting room and compile a list of same.
2. Consider your patient load, average waiting time, average age of patients (young moms may bring small kids, geriatric pts may be accompanied by caretakers) and patients' exceptional medical needs (a pulmonologist's patients would need different waiting room furniture than a bariatric surgeon's)
3. Determine a rough budget
3. Present to the staff a sample plan, incorporating suggestions as feasible. Have a drawing of the completed room, photos or samples of the furnature, and fabric/carpet/flooring swatches available.
